Christopher Pan, Associate

Christopher Pan practices in the areas of business and commercial law, with experience in business transactions, real estate, employment, intellectual property and estate planning.  Christopher began practicing in 2005 and is licensed in California (inactive) and Hawaii.  He is a member of the firm’s Business and Commercial, Real Estate and Estate Planning Practice Groups. 

Christopher is a graduate of Yale University, where he received his B.A. in philosophy, cum laude.  Prior to law school, Christopher received an M.A. in theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.  Christopher received his law degree from New York University School of Law, where he served as an editor on the NYU Review of Law and Social Change.  During law school, Christopher was a legal intern with International Justice Mission in Mumbai, India, working to combat forced child prostitution.

  • Business and Commercial Law: Business formation and planning, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and compliance, banking and finance, franchise law, administrative and regulatory compliance.
  • Real Estate: Purchase and sale of real property, commercial lease agreements, renewable energy development, land use, zoning and planning.
  • Employment: Human resource matters, employment and non-compete agreements, employee handbooks and employment discrimination.
  • Intellectual Property: Protection of trademarks, trade names, trade dress and copyrights, licensing agreements, e-commerce. 
  • Estate Planning: Estate planning, including wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives and appropriate conveyances of property.

    • Prior to joining Damon Key in 2010, Christopher was a corporate attorney with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in Menlo Park, California.  He has extensive experience advising clients in variety of transactions, and has worked on public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, business entity formation, SEC disclosure and corporate governance matters.  He has advised, among other clients, Oracle, E*TRADE, El Paso Electric Company and Callidus Software.  Representative transactions include the initial public offerings for OpenTable, TeleNav and CAI International, bond offerings generating over $10 billion in proceeds for Oracle, and various private equity investments by Richemont International.
